Avril Lavigne is already well into a follow up to this year’s ’Goodbye Lullaby’

Avril Lavigne is a good one this year, "Goodbye Lullaby" is already in the process.

The singer for the first album, eight songs were written.

When asked by her fansite Avril Lavigne Band Aids about a new album, she said: "I already have eight songs! I would like to release the fifth album really quick."

She added: "This record was more mellow, and the next one will be pop and more fun again. I already have a song that I know is going to be a single, I just need to re-record it!"

The 26-year-old singer revealed that she is covering Coldplay will perform as part of her upcoming tour "Fix You".

Lavigne in Manchester and London shows in September will be paid.

She said that despite the split, she is still close friends with ex-Whibley.

She added, 'We're not doing each other but yes, we're friends. I really respect him as a person and as an artist so it's all good.

'Deryck is very inspiring to me. He's so talented, and I really look up to him. I call him all the time, like, 'Yo, I've got a music question. Help me.' He has such a kind heart and he's so smart. We're there for each other.'
